Cabinet extends decisions related to COVID-19
The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired on Wednesday the regular weekly cabinet meeting using video conferencing.
During the meeting, the Cabinet reviewed and issued decisions related to the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of the precautionary measures taken to combat the pandemic, including the circular issued by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on April 30, 2020 to suspend some non-emergency health services in private health facilities.
The Cabinet’s decisions included the following:
Continuing the suspension of providing medical services in private health facilities, except for emergency cases. The facilities are:
1.2.Dermatology and laser clinics
1.3.Plastic surgery clinics
Continuing the suspension of providing medical services in the following private health facilities:
2.3.Complementary (alternative) medicine
2.4.Home health services- except for long-term nursing contracts
2.5.Health centers for people with special needs
The Minister of Public Health may grant permission to any of these private health facilities to provide some of their medical services that can be provided through modern communication.
Second: The Cabinet has also decided to extend decisions issued earlier on:
Reducing the number of employees present at the workplace in the government sector.
Reducing the number of workers present at the workplace in the private sector.
Specifying the working hours for employees and workers at their workplaces in the government and private sectors.
The working hours during the Holy month of Ramadan of the year 1441 AH (2020) shall be taking into consideration.
The meetings between employers and workers in the government and private sectors shall be held remotely.
Suspending the temporary home services system provided by cleaning and hospitality companies.
Reducing the number of workers transported by buses to half of the current capacity.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry shall continue to intensify inspections in food stores and restaurants to ensure their compliance with health requirements, preventive and precautionary measures- this includes maintain the safe distance between shoppers.
Third: Exceptions made earlier shall also be extended.
