Deadline for National Address registration is Sunday, July 26
Doha: As the deadline to register in the National Address inches near, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has reminded the public and companies to complete the registration exercise to avoid penalties.
The Ministry of Interior has said that the deadline to register National Address is Sunday, July 26, 2020. “We remind the citizens, expatriates, and legal persons (in accordance with the National Address Law) of the importance of registering their national addresses through Metrash2 or the website of the Ministry of Interior,” the Ministry said in a post on its website.
The registration process started on January 27 this year. There is a fine of QR10,000 for entering false information in the form. The fine also applies for not registering the address during the 6-month period.
The fine can be reconciled to QR5,000 before reaching the court. To simplify the National Address registration process, the Ministry has allowed domestic workers to register their national address using the form for registering domestic workers and authorising their employer to submit the application to the authorities after it has been filled and signed by the worker.
The Ministry had earlier said that the registration of National Address will be compulsory and required before people can access several other government services.
The National Address data include one’s residence address in Qatar, landline and mobile phone numbers, e-mail address, and work address for those who work in government or private sector.
The National Address is the address chosen by a person to correspond with the State or other bodies.
