HMC publishes tips to helps boost our immune system
Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has published a video detailing some tips on how people can boost their immune system which is targeted specially for care givers who are looking after senior citizens.
The video focuses on the need for the following consumables to boost the immune system:
Pro-biotics foods like labneh cheese and yogurt.
Colorful vegetables and fruits which are rich in antioxidants like apples, oranges, carrots, tomatoes etc.
Natural spices like ginger, garlic, cinnamon and cloves.
Omega-3 fatty acid rich foods like fishes, nuts, seeds and avocado.
As well as keeping hydrated by drinking at least 8-12 glasses of water per day.
In addition, it also emphasizes somethings you can do in the kitchen in addition to having a proper diet. Namely:
Keeping hands clean while cooking.
Storing food in a properly sealed manner.
Using thoroughly cleaned utensils.
And keeping the kitchen clean.
The video concluded by bring up the importance of physical activities (as per physical therapist recommendations) at least 30 minutes a day 3 times a week.
