Italy thanks Qatar for aid to fight virus
The Italian Embassy in Doha has thanked Qatar for delivering two field hospitals to Italy in a timely manner, stressing its commitment to joint efforts to win the battle against coronavirus (COVID-19).
“The Italian and the Qatari Air Forces worked side by side to ensure the timely delivery of the field hospitals donated to Italy. We are committed to joint efforts to win this fight against COVID-19,” Italian Embassy in Doha said in a tweet.
On the directives of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani Qatar provided assistance to Italy to win the battle against coronavirus (COVID-19).
The military aircraft of the Qatar Amiri Air Force loaded with two field hospitals – one measuring 5,200 square metres, while the second one measuring 4,000 square metres – then reached Italy.
The two hospitals can accommodate 1,000 beds equipped with modern medical equipment, technology, to treat those infected with the COVID-19 virus.
Upon the arrival of the two military aircraft carrying the field hopsitals, Ambassador of Qatar to Italy HE Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al Malki al Jehni had said: “In a concrete way Qatar wants to show that it is close to Italy during this difficult time. We will get out of this emergency and we will do it together!”
