MoPH urges the proper Disposal of Face Masks and Gloves
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) released a video explaining the need to properly dispose of face masks and gloves noting that improper disposal can put others’ lives at risk.
The MoPH stated that some people throw gloves or masks to the ground immediately after leaving supermarkets or other public locations and this behavior cases the germs or viruses on the gloves and masks to disperse into the air which may cause infection to others.
This behavior mainly affects cleaner who have to clean them off the ground and young children who may also be at risk if they pick up a contaminated mask or glove.
The MoPH concluded by explaining that once used masks become moist with saliva and should be thrown immediately into waste containers and hands should be washed or disinfected after disposing them.
