One supermarket, four food outlets in Doha shut for health code violations
The Municipality of Doha on Monday shut down a restaurant and supermarket in Al Najma for 30 days for not obtaining health certificates for all their workers. It has also ordered another restaurant, a confectionery shop and a bakery in Airport Area to remain closed for five days for preparing food in unhygienic conditions and non-compliance with health requirements.
The action comes as part of a broad campaign to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements amid the coronavirus outbreak in Qatar.
As part of the campaign, the Doha Municipality carried out 105 inspections on Monday and detected 11 violations.
The veterinary wing of the municipality’s health control department also examined 1,680 kilograms of fish in Doha Corniche, 3,848 carcasses in the central market. It destroyed 2 carcasses deemed unfit for human consumption.
