Qatar Labor Law Kadalasan, ito ang tanong ng ating mga kababayan lalo pa't katatapos lamang ang Eid holiday, kung saan ang nasabing tatlong araw ay dapat walang pasok sa mga pampubliko o pribadong tanggapan, Ang tanong, magkano daw ba dapat ang bayad o sweldo kapag ikaw ay pinagtrabaho pa rin sa araw ng iyong pahinga (Friday) o kaya ay mga non-working holidays? Ayon sa Article 75 ng Law No. 14 of 2004 o mas kilala sa tawag na Qatar Labor Law (as amended), ang mga manggagawa ay may karapatan para sa isang kompletong (24 consecutive hours) araw na pahinga, kadalasan ay Biyernes, maliban sa ibang mga manggagawa na may tinatawag na 'shift timings'. Pero, pinapayagan din ng nasabing artikulo na kung kinakailangan, maaaring pagtrabahuhin ng employer ang manggagawa kahit sa araw ng pahinga subalit kinakailangang tumbasan ng ibang araw ang araw na pahinga, at ang magiging bayad ng manggagawa sa nasabing araw ng pahinga ay may dagdag na hindi dapat bababa sa 150%. Halimbawa, kung ang sweldo ng manggagawa ay QR100 per day, kapag pinagtrabaho sya sa araw ng pahinga (o non-working day), ang magiging bayad o sweldo sa kanya sa araw na 'yun ay QR 100 + 150 = QR250 dapat. Samo't sari ang mga reaksiyon na ating narinig o nabasa mula sa ating mga kababayan, katulad ng, paano raw kung mataas na ang sweldo nila, e di mas ibababa pa? Ito po ay isang mali na pang-unawa, hindi po ganun 'yon. Ang layunin ng nasabing batas ay magtakda ng kontrol sa pinakamababa na sahod na dapat tanggapin ng mga manggagawa at hindi upang ibaba pa ang sahod na dati ng mataas. Halimbawa, kung ang dati mong sahod ay nasa QR800 lamang, ito po ay magiging isang paglabag sa batas kung ang itinatakda ng batas ay dapat hindi na bababa sa QR1,800 ang sahod (QR 1,000 - basic wage + QR500 (accommodation) + QR300 (food). O kaya, kung ang manggagawa ay pasasahurin ng mas mababa sa QR 1,800 kada buwan (inclusive of accommodation and food allowance), ito po ay magiging isang paglabag din sa batas. Maaari bang gamitin ng employer ang batas na ito upang ibaba ang sweldo ng manggagawa sa pinakamababang itinakda ng Law No. 17 of 2020? Of course not, Alalahanin po natin na ang taas o baba ng sweldo na ino-offer sa isang aplikante sa trabaho ay nakabase rin sa propesyon, experience, at kakayahan ng isang manggagawa.
