Qatar Implements Daytime Outdoor Work Ban to Protect Workers from Heat Stress

Doha, Qatar: In a bid to safeguard workers against the perils of heat stress during the scorching summer months, the Ministry of Labour has declared a prohibition on outdoor work during daytime hours.

Effective from June 1, 2024, until September 15, 2024, the ban will be in force from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

This directive is in accordance with Ministerial Resolution No. 17 of 2021, which outlines essential measures to shield workers from heat stress during the summer season.

Under this decision, work in open-air environments and inadequately ventilated shaded areas is forbidden from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. However, employees may resume outdoor work after 3:30 PM.
