PICE Qatar Celebrates 17th Foundation Day with Sports and Camaraderie

Doha, Qatar – The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) Qatar Chapter marked its 17th Foundation Day on May 24, 2024, at the Qatar Bowling Center in Doha. The celebration was a vibrant and dynamic affair, with members actively participating in a variety of games including billiards, darts, table tennis, and foosball. These activities not only provided entertainment but also strengthened the bonds within the community through friendly competition.

The festivities began the previous evening, on May 23, 2024, with a special event titled "Bowling for a Cause." This charitable bowling tournament set the tone for Foundation Day, allowing members to enjoy a night of fun while contributing to a noble cause. The bowling event was a great success, creating a positive atmosphere that carried over to the next day's celebrations.

In addition to the games, the event featured an Inter-color Basketball League and the Presidents Cup, adding to the excitement and competitive spirit. The basketball games were intensely contested, showcasing the skills and teamwork of the participating teams. The awards ceremony, held during the Foundation Day celebration on May 24, recognized the winners and celebrated their achievements.

The current PICE Qatar President Engr. Dave G. Sanchez opened the program with a warm welcome speech, expressing his gratitude for the members' active participation and dedication to the organization. His remarks highlighted the importance of such events in fostering a strong sense of community and professional growth among civil engineers in Qatar. Past PICE Qatar Presidents were also present at the event, each delivering heartfelt speeches that reminisced about the chapter's journey and its accomplishments over the years, inspiring members to continue striving for excellence.

The event concluded with the announcement of the winners of the various competitions. The list of winners is as follows:

Billiards Men's Category:

  • Champion Engr. Alvin Alanguilan, 1st Runner-up Engr. Ellezer Jayoma, 2nd Runner-up Engr. Dave G. Sanchez

Billiards Women’s Category:

  • Champion Michella Reyes-Nacario, 1st Runner-up Maria Michelle Revillosa, 2nd Runner-up Aileen Joyce Ordoñez

Darts Men's:

Champion Edilbert Baysa, 1st Runner-up Leo Manrique, 2nd Runner-up Lester Militante

Darts Women's:

  • Champion Danica Rose Alcantara, 1st Runner-up Lilibeth Tolentino, 2nd Runner-up Maria Michelle Revillosa

Table Tennis Men's:

  • Champion Aushford Acera, 1st Runner-up Remegio Alan Nacario, 2nd Runner-up Allen Nacario Jr.
