The event is sponsored by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), the Military Medical City Hospital (MMCH), and The View Hospital.   The conference includes seven panel discussions that address various topics and concepts related to patient safety, along with ten lectures in which local and international healthcare institutions will present their successful experiences in improving the quality and safety of services provided. In her opening address, Ms Huda Amer Al Khtheeri, Director of Strategic Planning, Performance, and Innovation at the Ministry of Public Health, said, "Qatar Patient Safety Week is all about coming together to make healthcare better and safer for people in Qatar. This has always been a consistent feature in all our health strategies."   Ms Al Khtheeri added, "As we mark the 10th anniversary of Qatar Patient Safety Week, we reflect on a decade of commitment to advancing healthcare quality and safety. Together, we’ve made incredible improvements in patient safety. However, with the fast-paced advancements in healthcare, come new challenges to the safety of our services, our patients and our staff. For which, we need to keep the momentum going and proactively ensure that quality and safety are always integral to all that we do to deliver the best patient outcomes."   During the conference, an artistic sand drawing performance was presented by artist Shaima Al Muhairi, depicting the ten-year journey of Qatar Patient Safety Week since its inception in 2014.   Dr Mariam Abdul Malik, Managing Director of the Primary Health Care Corporation, emphasised the significance of Qatar Patient Safety Week’s activities, which highlight the need for continuous efforts to improve patient safety. • Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co. reveals the new Renault Arkana: More 'Nouvelle Vague" then ever

A new distinctive look to establish this C-segment Coupe SUV in Renault’s new line-up A new high-end Esprit Alpine version with a sporty-chic vibe An assertive move upmarket with three trims and a wider choice of technology Driving pleasure combined with the TCe 155 hp powertrain   Doha, Qatar, September 4, 2024  – Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co. – the exclusive agent of Renault in Qatar has recently launched the new Renault Arkana with its Coupe SUV style combining zip and roominess. Its upmarket versions – R.S. Line then E-Tech Engineered – offer extra character and vigor and have contributed a lot to its success. Nassim Mourani , General Manager of the Automotive Group at Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co. , stated "Renault's new Arkana has elevated the coupe SUV segment globally, and now it’s set to thrill customers in Qatar. The prestigious R.S. Line and E-Tech Engineered versions, which captured 53% of European sales in 2023, infuse the model with unmatched character and dynamism. The new Arkana embodies Renault's renewed identity, boasting a fluid, commanding design accentuated by the striking Nouvel’R logo and a distinctive grille pattern. The sporty-chic Esprit Alpine trim further elevates its persona with exclusive exterior and interior features. The streamlined range, offering three trims—Evolution, Techno, and Esprit Alpine—ensures each model is equipped with premium amenities like the Renault EASY LINK infotainment system. Built on the CMF-B platform, the new Arkana delivers an exhilarating driving experience, seamlessly blending efficiency, handling, and comfort. We are thrilled to introduce this exceptional vehicle to Qatar, offering our customers a truly unique and exciting driving experience."   NEW LOOK The New Arkana, which Renault is unveiling today, combines an original fluid feel, imposing demeanor and heavy-duty build with Renault’s new identity, to ride even higher on the “Nouvelle Vague”. The Nouvel’R logo is built into the grille, at the center of the Deep Glossy Black band linking the headlights. This surface is entirely flush and smooth, making it even more elegant. The Nouvel’R logo’s design provides the basis for the new pattern on the grille – a deliberately unstructured assortment of diamonds reverberating around the one in the middle. A 3D effect on the diamonds’ edges seems to carve them out and add depth. Depending on the trim (Evolution, Techno or Esprit Alpine), these features will be Black, Satin Chrome or Dark Chrome, to underline the shift upmarket. The vertical pattern on the upper grille makes the overall look more consistent with that on the grille at the base of the bumper. The aerodynamic blade that became an R.S. Line and E-Tech Engineered version hallmark is now on the bumper of the line-up’s Techno and Esprit Alpine trims. It is the same color as the body in the Techno version and Satin Grey in the Esprit Alpine version. The logo at the center of the tailgate is Dark Chrome, matching the one at the front as well as the lettering and tailpipes. The lights have ever-so-slightly smoked crystal-like covers to add a modern touch. The chrome on the decorative features (grille, window rims, etc.) has been replaced by Black, Satin Black or Deep Glossy Black depending on the version. NEW ESPRIT ALPINE TRIM Like the other most recent models in Renault’s line-up, the New Arkana now includes a sporty-chic Esprit Alpine trim at the top of the range – which beautifully befits the vehicle’s personality. One of the exterior features is the Satin Gry blade on the front bumper. Another is the Shale Grey badge nestled in Deep Glossy Black on the wing trim. It also comes with new 18-inch wheels that add to its stateliness as much as is sportiness. A new aileron cut to match the roof enhances the tailgate’s aerodynamics. Inside, the seats are a mixture of Eco Tep (10% bio-sourced materials) and imitation suede. The seats now come with blue horizontal overstitching and the Alpine logo on the back, and the safety belts with two blue stripes. The inside of the doors has red, white and blue stitching and the cladding on the dashboard area facing the front passenger seat is slate-like for an elegant, low-key effect.   A SIMPLER RANGE AND MORE AMENITIES The New Arkana line-up is being introduced to three trims: Evolution, Techno and Esprit Alpine to give a good level of choice to customer. From Techno, navigation is standard with the Renault EASY LINK infotainment system, which also connects wirelessly with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The digital screen on the dashboard still measures 7 inches diagonally but now displays information across a larger area. This line-up is introducing a new body color, Midnight Blue. AN ENJOYABLE DRIVING EXPERIENCE The New Arkana is built on the CMF-B modular platform developed by the Alliance. This platform has been praised for the efficiency and driving pleasure it affords, its outstanding versatility, its high-performance handling and its great comfort. Explore the New Arkana at Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co. – the exclusive agent of Renault in Qatar showroom on Salwa Road or call 8000505.

  • CRA hosts the 25th International Space Radio Monitoring Meeting (ISRMM)

Doha, September 3, 2024:  Today, the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) in the State of Qatar is hosting the 25th International Space Radio Monitoring Meeting (ISRMM) in Doha, Qatar. The 25th edition of the ISRMM is being held from September 3-5, 2024. This annual multilateral meeting is attended by participants from communications and spectrum management regulatory bodies engaged in satellite monitoring and measurements, as well as representatives from satellite communication companies, equipment manufacturers, and other satellite related organizations. The three-day meeting will explore innovative strategies, address emerging challenges, and collaborate on solutions to ensure the effective and harmonious use of the radio spectrum.   The ISRMM includes a symposium for industry experts and a regulator’s expert meeting. The sessions will provide insights from various sectors including regulatory bodies, satellite industry, space agencies, monitoring agencies, and other stakeholders on advanced technologies related to space monitoring, geolocation, interference mitigation, in addition to discussing policies, regulations, and recent experiences in this field. Engineer Ahmad Abdulla Al Muslemani, President of the Communications Regulatory Authority, emphasized the crucial role of space and satellite technologies in fostering a sustainable and inclusive digital society. “Qatar’s commitment to advancing space technology not only aligns with the nation’s vision for sustainable development and economic prosperity but also positions Qatar as a pioneering force in the global space industry,” he stated. “By investing in these cutting-edge technologies, Qatar aims to drive significant technological innovation, diversify its economy, create new job opportunities, and enhance national security. These objectives are central to support the Qatar National Vision 2030, the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030, the Digital Agenda 2030, and CRA strategy, reflecting the country's strategic focus on harnessing space technology for long-term growth and global leadership,” he added.   Space radio monitoring is crucial for identifying and resolving Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) that can disrupt satellite communications. It ensures the safe operation of satellites by monitoring their orbits, preventing collisions, and supporting emergency responses with real-time data on satellite anomalies or failures.   Satellite communication services are essential for earth observation, weather forecasting, and monitoring climate change. These services require sufficient spectrum, and it is the collaborative role of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and telecom regulatory authorities around the world that keep these frequencies free of interference.
